Mental development and purification
Venerable Bhikkhus (Buddhist monks) provide the spiritual ways of life by teaching the Buddha Dhamma, Meditation, Dhamma Chanting that leads to the purity and serenity. Dana (generosity), Sila (morality) and Bhavana (meritorious development ) are the main Buddha's Teaching to the lay devotees.
The invitation to the Both family and public ceremonies observing at home, at the temple, or any public venue are welcome with an appointment in advance.
Unity development in the community
Bodhikaram Temple is established to bring the unity to the community in the peaceful ways of Buddha teaching called the Middle Way. We welcome every body from all backgrounds equally. The great family can be built together in the Buddha's way. Our devotees, volunteers and sponsors have contributed fund, energy and time to make it running smoothly for Cambodian community and the sake of humanity. We volunteer to serve you and the world with peace as much as we can.
Festivals and Events in the Temple
We host at least 10 events each year in the temple. All events are related closely to Buddhism and Khmer culture. They are: Magha Puja, Khmer New Year, Visakha Puja, Buddhist Lent, Khmer Ancestors' Day (Pchum Ben), End of Buddhist Lent, Kathina Ceremony and so on. The events are open to all people from all background to participate for free. You are welcome to share your merit, cultivate the good deed and build peace together.
You are also welcome to celebrate or observe your family Buddhist event at the temple by contacting and make appointment with Venerable monk for the available time.
Latest project
The Mondul Ottawa Khmer Buddhis Monastery, Bodhikaram Temple have been growing from time to time and moved from one place to other places. It is now situated in the large property with 2 acres land size at 4537 Hawhtorne Road, Ottawa, ON. This place is the appropriate location to be built as a Buddhist temple permanently.
We, the monks, Board of Directors and adviser have made decision with agreement and prepared the application to apply for the Zoning Bylaw so that we can use this place to be a Buddhist Temple without any unexpected issue.

A Zoning Bylaw:

provides a legal and precise way of managing land use and future development

in addition to the official plan, protects you from conflicting and possibly dangerous land uses in your community" Zoning bylaws: ontario.ca
To apply for zoning bylaw, we have to get ready with the amount of fund approximately $35,000 for the application and other requirements. As Bodhikaram Temple is the charity and Non-profit Organization surviving by donation from generous donors and supporters, we would like to ask you for helping with less or more donation to get this project done successfully.
